Why is most of the music so rubbish? Why?

I think the music that comes out of Britain more specifically England is a lot better then what is coming out of America in my opinion. But as with all music when all those bands you listed where new in the music world someone out there was complaining about whatever happened to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and great music like that. It happens with each generation.
