Why do you listen to music?

It's kind of funny, I have played in bands for many years and played the same songs literally thousands of times and I could not tell you the lyrics to any of the hundreds and hundreds of songs I've played. I'm all about the back beat and the melody. I honestly don't care about the message and don't even listen to the lyrics at all. I do listen to the vocals in a melodic way. I am a huge funk and R&B guy but I listen to other stuff as well.
